The climate of the city is warm and humid. Months from November to February see clear skies and experience cooler weather. March to June is the summer season. May is the warmest and January is the coldest month of the year. Temperature during summer can touch a high of 40 degrees centigrade while in winter it can drop down to a minimum of 18 degrees. Torrential rains come during the monsoons, at times flooding the major roads and streets of Mumbai. The average annual rainfall records 180 cm. Juhu Beach - The beach is a classy locale of the city and is a favourite haunt both of the locals and the outsiders alike. The beach is located 18 north of the city centre and gives majestic views of the Arabian waters.
Gateway of India - Built in Kharodi basalt and reinforced concrete, the Gateway of India is a landmark of the city of Mumbai. It is the entrance point for those who wish the explore the city. The archway is a splendid creation of designer George Wittet's mind.
Marine Drive - To discover the essence of the city, take a stroll down Marine Drive. Most of the residents of Mumbai come here to have some fresh air. The popular thoroughfare was built in the 1920s and 1930s.
Essel World - Essel World is Mumbai's first and largest amusement park. Holidays can be total fun enjoying the rides and games that are provided here. The Water Kingdom is the largest of its kind in Asia and is a whole lot of fun.
Bollywood - The Biggest India Film Industry lies here. Bollywood produces most number of Hindi movies every year. Everywhere around the city bill boards and hoarding can be seen advertising the latest movies that in the city.
Haji Ali Tomb - It is a tomb of a Muslim saint and is located off-shore in the Arabian Sea. It can only be visited during low tide as high tide submerges the walkway to the tomb.
Shopping in Mumbai
The city provides ample opportunities for shoppers. There are Zaveri Bazar, Chor Market and Mutton Street. One can buy jewellery items, wooden articles, leather-ware and other daily commodities. Linking road that joins Bandra to Khar is lined with elite shopping points. Colaba and Flora Fountain is yet another destination for buying ethnic artifacts. It is a walking distance from Bombay VT to Colaba and Flora Fountain.
